Everything We KeepEverything We Keep by Kerry Lonsdale

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In Kerry Lonsdale’s debut novel, Everything We Keep, we meet Aimee on what should have been her wedding day. Instead, she is attending her fiancé’s funeral. Still reeling from the service, she is approached by a mysterious woman who tells her James is still alive and living in Mexico. Aimee tries to forget the woman’s words, but can’t seem to move on with her life despite the distractions of a new business and an intriguing new man in her life. It isn’t until she is certain whether or not James is dead that she can begin to move forward with her life.

Everything We Keep has all the best elements of women’s fiction (a plucky heroine at a crossroads in her life, a little bit of romance, and a great supporting cast) as well as the fast-paced elements of a thriller. Just when I thought I knew where Aimee’s story would go next, Lonsdale surprised me with a fresh twist. This would be a great book to tuck in your travel bag this fall.

Thank you to NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing for furnishing me with a review copy of the novel.
