During this year’s A to Z Challenge, I am writing about my latest novel, Escape Plan by giving you all little snippets about the characters, inspiration, and lessons learned while writing my third novel.

Readers look at a book cover for a matter of seconds before deciding if they are interested or not. That was why we decided to visually link the covers of the Overlook series. The covers of both Overlook and Escape Plan feature a red-headed woman in a yellow hat looking out at a lake.

What do you look for in a book cover? Do you prefer covers where you don’t see the character’s face? How do you feel about covers with just a woman’s feet, or hand, or the back of her head? Do you prefer covers without people on them? Swirly writing or block letters? Flowers? Just words?

Escape Plan by Elizabeth Hein (100x150)To celebrate the release of Escape Plan coinciding with the A to Z Challenge, I am giving away a $10 Barnes & Noble gift card and 3 copies of Escape Plan. All you have to do is leave a comment with a way to reach you when you win.

Also, if you sign-up to receive my newsletter, I will send you a free copy of Overlook, the prequel to Escape Plan.
