EP twitter picDuring this year’s A to Z Challenge, I am writing about my latest novel, Escape Plan by giving you all little snippets about the characters, inspiration, and lessons learned while writing my third novel.

The entire plot of Escape Plan revolves around Kitty’s plan for getting away with murder. Now, she didn’t plan on killing her husband. That happened in one of her more unhinged moments; however, with the help of her sister, Rose, she comes up with a plan. The two sisters figure out a way to make it look like Kitty’s husband died in an accident somewhere far away from home. It was a good plan, at least until Kitty’s life get even more complicated by the addition of a perpetually drunk heiress, a new love interest, and a growing pile of unpaid bills.

I had a good time coming up with Kitty and Rose’s plan and thinking about all the contingencies and possible complications. Even the best-laid plans can go wrong. People are unpredictable and make mistakes. Kitty certainly does and has to scramble to keep her head above water when everything seems to be sinking around her.
