I appreciate when my writing friends give me positive feedback on my work. I love when they ask me questions. Questions can be a writers best friend. In the process of bringing a story to fruition, the author can lose sight of what the reader needs to know when. We are inside the story trying to push it forward. The reader experiences the story one page at a time. They need to understand what is happening at that point.
Even more than questions regarding clarity, I appreciate when readers ask me why a character is doing something. Many times their questions help me see where a bit of backstory could be inserted or a even a different direction to move the narrative in.
